2023 Highlights Day 9: The Shared Alarm Receiving Centre

Day 9 of our 12 days of Digital Partnership highlights of 2023!

We're excited to celebrate the Shared Alarm Receiving Centre.

Supported by the Scottish Government TEC Programme, the Shared Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) Platform was developed in collaboration with a group of 17 early adopter Telecare Service Providers.

The Shared ARC Platform accelerates the transition to digital telecare. It also crucially establishes a unique platform for innovation which can support the wider Health and Social Care sectors ambitions around better use of data, and early intervention and prevention. This single source framework solution is innovative and the first of its kind in Europe.

The formal contract awarded to Chubb has allowed adopters to begin to implement the Shared ARC Platform within their own organisations. Working alongside Chubb and their partner Skyresponse, the Digital Telecare team is continuing to support adopters as they go through the process of calling off the Framework Agreement and onboarding the Shared ARC Platform. Go-live for the first adopter organisation is anticipated for very early in the New Year.

Martyn Wallace, Co-Chair for the Shared ARC Programme Steering Group and Digital Telecare Senior Responsible Officer, said: “The Shared Alarm Receiving Centre Platform procurement has been a massive piece of work in conjunction with Scotland Excel, Early Adopters, TEC Programme, Scottish Government, and the Digital Office Digital Telecare team. It proves that by collaborating and then disrupting with new technology and data, we can achieve and deliver even better outcomes. The Shared ARC Platform showcases sector-leading innovation and interoperability. Now we move forwards towards onboarding and implementation of adopter organisations with our provider Chubb before the analogue telephony switch-off in December 2025.”
