2023 Highlight Day 11: Digital Partnership Forum
Day 11 of our 12 days of Digital Partnership highlights of 2023!
We're delighted to feature our Digital Partnership Forum.
To navigate the continually evolving digital landscape we work in and embrace emerging technologies, we must be flexible in our approaches. One of the ways we can collectively discover, define, develop and deliver is by adopting the approaches and principles of Service Design.
The Digital Office for Scottish Local Government hosted the bi-annual Digital Partnership Forum on 5th of December, bringing together key colleagues from across the sector who are involved in or responsible for digital transformation in their organisation. This interactive session, co-led by Snook explored:
- Embracing the Future: Co-creating the Vision for Local Government. Exploring what the future of local government might look like. What opportunities there are to collectively embrace emerging technology and shape the vision for a digitally enabled council?
From the introduction by Snook and the activities throughout the session, hopefully you enjoyed challenging yourself, listening to other perspectives and collectively considering ‘how might we’ Embrace the Future. We thoroughly enjoyed and appreciate your input into the various interactive breakout sessions this year and we are currently analysing the Miro Boards used to share with you and agree some of the ‘How might we’ statements we can progress in collaboration.
Jane Fowler, Head of Customer Support Services, Argyll and Bute Council "The Partnership Forum keeps me up to speed with progress on the work that the Digital Office is doing as well as giving opportunities to hear what other colleagues are working on. This Forum gave me a great opportunity to try out a new approach to collaborating with new colleagues on wicked problems. The process was very practical and helped me to distil a challenging issue into manageable actions – thanks!
This was a very different approach from our more traditional Partnership Forums, however the feedback received was very positive. To build upon adopting the approaches and principles of Service Design, we are currently planning additional opportunities for Local Authorities supported by Snook with our:
- Design Challenge Competition
- Service Design – Your Role as a Senior Leader workshop
