Data Insight Workshops

All Scottish Local Authorities have had to respond rapidly to the current COVID-19 crisis. Whilst many of these responses have necessarily had bespoke elements, there will undoubtedly be many considerations and approaches that could be replicated across partner Local Authorities.

The Digital Partnership Data Drive Squad are hosting a Data Insight Workshop to help us share our experiences and identify common learning, avoid duplication of effort and enable us to build a more efficient and resilient data infrastructure and community for the future.  We will run two generic workshops - each workshop will facilitate exploration of any data project - regardless of the theme.

Workshop 1: 30 June 2020, 2 – 4pm (COMPLETE)

Workshop 2: 2 July 2020, 2 – 4pm (COMPLETE)

Workshop 3: 14 July 2020, 2-4pm (COMPLETE)

Workshop 4: 21 July 2020, 2-4pm (REGISTER NOW)

All workshops will be hosted on Microsoft Teams. During the workshops a number of breakout sessions will be held with smaller groups to ensure everyone has a chance to contribute.

Workshop Outputs
Once all workshops have been run, the Data Drive Squad will collate all the shared experiences, lessons learned and learning needs. These findings will be published anonymously, to the Driven by Data Cohort alongside a calendar of events designed to meet our identified learning needs. The Advisory Group will also use this output to identify and facilitate the development of shared data products to the Partnership.

Before the workshop
Please be prepared to participate and not just listen in the workshop. We want you to speak about your own experiences and own solutions to the emergency – and possibly share detail with other participants. We have pulled together a few bullet points of information to consider prior to the workshop. Read full guidance here.

During the workshop, we will break into smaller groups to compare our individual experiences and you will receive an invitation to a specific breakout session prior to the workshop.

We are also offering support for you to run similar Deep Dive Workshops within your own Local Authorities. If you are interested in benefiting from this support, please complete the following form.
